Central College students have an opportunity to participate in domestic and international semester or year-long programs for full academic credit. Course work in these programs is pre-approved to meet graduation requirements.
365体育投注Kosovo, one of the world’s youngest countries, is the primary setting for students to earn six credits in the RIT-AUK Peace and Conflict Summer Program. Included in the itinerary is a study tour to Albania, Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia. Highly experienced faculty work directly with students to bring the history, culture, politics and economy of the region into the classroom, as well as in firsthand, engaged student experiences. Courses include: Peace Keeping, Conflict Transformation, Violent Extremism, Development and Human Rights. A semester in Chicago allows students to gain experience in their chosen career fields and encounter the challenges of living and working in an urban environment. Students from any major can complete an internship or student teaching experience, along with academic seminars and a practicum.

During this semester program, students choose an academic course, complete a professional portfolio and learn about opportunities to contribute to local, national and international communities.

Students interested in Islam and the Middle East can spend a semester in Oman, a country known for its peacefulness, modernity, hospitality and openness. Participants study Arabic and Islam, with an emphasis on building understanding and trust between Christians and Muslims. Four weekend excursions introduce students to the diversity within Oman, and they can also enjoy guest lectures, museum visits, snorkeling, dolphin watching and hiking in the mountains.
Students can choose a semester in Beijing, Nanjing or Shanghai depending on their Chinese language level and interest area. Each program has a different emphasis, including Chinese language in culture, business language or China’s global context. Each site also offers excursions and activities with local students and residents.
A semester program in Nantes, France that aims to improve written and oral levels as well as immerse students in daily French life. Nantes is a unique place to focus on French proficiency as it is not touristy and offers excellent cultural opportunities. Nantes is a beautiful city on the Loire River that is eco-friendly and manageable to live in. Highlights to living in Nantes include the food, architecture and immersion into French society. With a partnership with Université de Nantes, students have access to computer labs, libraries, sport facilities, student clubs and cafeterias.
A semester program in Paris offers intensive language learning for students who have completed four or more semesters of college-level French, as well as opportunities to explore French culture in contemporary Paris, one of Europe’s most culturally diverse cities.
