Students have various opportunities to explore their faith at Central. Whether through Campus Ministries’ functions or academic pursuits, Central College is dedicated to the development of the total person, including through spiritual formation.
Campus Ministries’365体育投注 mission is to nurture disciples who act as the hands and feet of Jesus. It offers many opportunities for students to serve locally, nationally and globally through ministry teams, service projects and mission trips. There is a place for everyone, whether exploring faith or looking for a friendly community.
Campus Ministries also encourages students to engage with the college community through small groups, discipleship programs that partner students with a mentor, prayer ministry, baptism and large group worship. The largest weekly student gathering is The Calm on Sunday evenings. Described as “the calm before the storm of a busy week,” it seeks to encourage community through prayer, media, contemporary worship and a message from Chaplain Joe Brummel.
Campus Ministries staff includes Chaplin Joe Brummel and Campus Ministry Coordinators Brooke Ehrenberg and Hannah Laflin.
365体育投注Independent organizations, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), work in conjunction with Campus Ministries in the greater ministry toward campus. They hold ministry gatherings Tuesday and Thursday nights and work with Campus Ministries to coordinate small groups and other events.
365体育投注 is a nondenominational “evangelical campus mission serving students and faculty on college and university campuses nationwide … to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed and world changers developed.” In partnership with Campus Ministries and FCA, InterVarsity is responsible for many of the small groups and Bible studies offered to students on campus.

Their primary gatherings are at 8 p.m. Tuesday evenings in the Boat/Moore/Weller rooms in Maytag Student Center. Students hear guest speakers and student testimonies and discuss a variety of hot topics in small groups. FCA uses sports as a platform to share biblical principles. It invites students to fun evenings getting to know fellow Central students. FCA is a safe environment to explore one’s faith and is not just for athletes. All are welcome!
Study of religion is an integral part of a liberal arts education. Central’s religion department offers the religion major and courses in biblical studies, the history of Christian thought, world religions, ethics, theology and applied courses.
